DFI held an event to celebrate self-advocacy members, who spent four consecutive Monday nights with the organization in March and successfully completed the training course.
On 27 March, Karen Smith received her certificate from the Federation of Disability Ireland after completing the media training course held by Senator John Dolan and Miriam O’Callaghan. She was one of the many individuals who have successfully completed the training program.
Miriam’s message to the self-advocates was that they should share their personal experiences as an expert in disability to the other people who can benefit from their knowledge.
Karen was able to record a video for the DFI during the awarding of the certificates for the media training course held at the DFI Fumbally Lane office.
