The Republic of Ireland’s Women’s National football team made its debut at the FIFA Women’s World Cup on Thursday, facing off against Australia at Sydney’s Accor Stadium. It was a sellout crowd, with thousands watching from various countries.
Fingal Sports Office organized the Watch Party for the Irish Women’s National Football Team, held on the 20th of July at the National Sports Campus in Corduff Blanchardstown.
This was a big opportunity for Bcil staff to attend and support the girls in green. While there Geraldine and Karen did an accessibility audit on the facilities on offer there and it got a big thumbs up from Bcil.
“Many thanks to Fingal County Council for hosting the event which was extremely enjoyable. I got lots of goodies including a crazy football.”
BCIL staff member, Karen said: “I went to watch the Ireland Australia Women’s Soccer match with Geraldine from BCIL. It was a really good match despite the score and it was a valiant effort from the girls in green. I got a lift from one of our vans to the event in at the National Sports Campus in Corduff. When I got there the complex it was totally accessible, and the security personnel were extremely helpful and gave us a fantastic view at the front where we could watch the match in comfort. “
